Over 4 enchanting days, drift serenely along the Nile River from Luxor to Aswan, uncovering the extraordinary temples, monuments.  And stories that have shaped one of the world’s greatest civilizations.

A Dahabiya offers something truly unique  a slower, more peaceful pace of travel that allows you to connect deeply with the river, the landscape, and the history surrounding you at every turn.

Highlights of Your 4-Day Journey:

Luxor — City of Temples and Legends
Begin your voyage in magnificent Luxor, home to some of the most awe-inspiring ancient monuments on earth. Explore the vast and breathtaking Karnak Temple complex.  A sprawling sanctuary of towering columns, sacred halls, and ancient hieroglyphs that tell the stories of Egypt’s most powerful pharaohs. Continue to the stunning Luxor Temple. Standing proudly on the banks of the Nile as it has for thousands of years.

Edfu Temple — A Masterpiece of Ancient Architecture
One of the undisputed highlights of your journey is the remarkable Temple of Edfu, one of the best-preserved ancient temples in all of Egypt. Dating back to 237 BC, this magnificent structure was built during the Hellenistic period following the conquest of Alexander the Great, under the mandate of Ptolemy III. Fascinatingly, despite their Greek origins, the Ptolemaic rulers chose to honor and preserve traditional Egyptian architectural styles and religious customs — making Edfu a remarkable fusion of two great civilizations.

Aswan — Serenity on the Nile
Arrive in the beautifully calm and culturally rich city of Aswan, where golden desert landscapes meet the crystal-clear waters of the Nile. Explore the city’s legendary landmarks and immerse yourself in the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere that makes Aswan one of Egypt’s most treasured destinations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Dahabiyas are traditional wooden sailing boats with private cabins with ensuite, originally designed to take 19th Century travelers along the Nile in comfort.

You get to see the rich history of the country through the temples but also have the opportunity to understand the culture of modern Egypt through truly local experiences.

A Dahabiya is a traditional Egyptian sailing vessel that has been used on the Nile for centuries. Unlike large modern cruise ships, a Dahabiya offers a more intimate, exclusive, and authentic Nile experience with fewer passengers on board, a slower and more peaceful pace, and a deeper connection with the river and its surrounding landscapes.

The Orient Star Dahabiya sails from Luxor to Aswan, stopping at some of Upper Egypt's most iconic and historically significant landmarks along the way, including Karnak Temple, Luxor Temple, and the magnificent Temple of Edfu.

The journey runs for 4 days and 3 nights, offering a perfectly paced and immersive exploration of the Nile between Luxor and Aswan.

Your journey includes visits to some of Egypt's most celebrated ancient sites, including: Karnak Temple — one of the largest religious complexes ever built Luxor Temple — a stunning monument on the banks of the Nile Temple of Edfu — one of Egypt's best-preserved ancient temples, dating back to 237 BC Aswan — and its remarkable landmarks and scenic beauty

While traditional Nile cruise ships carry a large number of passengers, a Dahabiya is a smaller, more private vessel that offers a far more exclusive and personal experience. The slower sailing pace allows you to truly absorb the beauty of the Nile, enjoy greater flexibility in your itinerary, and experience the river in a way that larger ships simply cannot offer.
