The museum expresses an important period of Egypt's modern history and is unique in its architectural design  is unique from other historical palace museums by its wonderful architectural design, also, as it was built in a modern Islamic style adapted from Fatimid and Mamluk Islamic schools ... The Persian, Syrian and Moroccan spirit was also common in it, and the decoration of its buildings appeared in the spirit of the Ottoman style.

The museum is an artistic school that combines the elements of various Islamic arts, and this palace was built by Prince Muhammad Ali Pasha.

The prince chose the land on which he built his palace, so he bought it from a foreigner and began construction in 1901, starting with the residence serail.

Prince Muhammad Ali, son of former Khedive Muhammad Tawfiq, established a revival of Islamic arts and reverence for them, and this museum is unique from other museums and historical palaces in Egypt with its wonderful architectural design, as it was built in a modern Islamic style adapted from the Fatimid and Mamluk Islamic schools.

The palace is located on the eastern branch of the Nile on the island of Menil El Rawda, and the total area of the palace is 61711 m2, including 5000 m2 of buildings and 34000 m2 for the garden. As for the internal roads and garden facilities, its area is 22711 m2

The reception hall:

Located above the entrance, it is dedicated to receiving official guests who visit the prince in his palace. The reception consists of two floors with a wooden staircase between them

Consisting of 15 halls with a courtyard with a small garden in the center, the museum houses all of the prince's Islamic collections and antiques from around the world, as well as rare manuscripts, Qur'ans, writing instruments and rare carpets.
