Baron Empain Palace

If you like the very old architecture, you should go to Baron Empain Palace This reinforced concrete palace in Hindu style and inspired by the temple of Angkor Wat detonates in the Cairo landscape. Designed by a French architect, it was inhabited by a Belgian industrialist who came to Egypt for a railway project. The Fayoum Oasis

The Fayoum Oasis, located 100 kilometers south of Cairo, is the largest oasis in Egypt. Its orchard is due to the subway water that it receives from the Nile River. Upon arrival, you will see a fantastic natural landscape where nature and history blend magically in the middle of the desert. In Ancient Egypt the importance of this place was already noticed.

You will visit one of the first pyramids that were built in ancient Egypt. It is the pyramid of Meidum. Its appearance, similar to a tower, is due to the fact that in ancient times the pyramid collapsed and only the inner part managed to stay standing. A unique fact among the Egyptian pyramids.

Lake Qarun

Then we will cross the city of Fayoum to reach Lake Qarun, one of the most important areas of the oasis. Its saline waters are located below sea level, in a huge area of several hundred square kilometers. On its shores we will visit the archaeological site of Kas Qarun. This ancient settlement still preserves temples and fortresses from different historical periods. Then Proceed to have your lunch at a local restaurant.

Lunch

After the archaeological explanations of the guide, we will have time for lunch on the shores of the lake. It will consist of a wonderful meal consisting of a typical Egyptian menu. (drinks are not included)

Finally, we will end the excursion to the Fayum Oasis, changing course towards Cairo, where we will arrive in the late afternoon.
