Day 2Tour To The Pyramids Of Giza And The Egyptian Museum.

In the morning after breakfast, you will accompany your guide to start the second day of your 6 days in Egypt by visiting one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.

The Pyramids of Giza Complex

The Pyramids of Giza will be your first visit. They have been there for 4000 years and are one of the oldest monuments in the world. The complex is made up of three large pyramids, six small pyramids and the large Sphinx with the House of Eternity Valley Temple.

The Great Pyramid

It is the only structure of the seven wonders of the ancient world still standing. It dates back to 2580 BC. The Pyramid of Cheops was built over 20 years with 2,300,000 pieces of limestone, each piece weighing 2.5 tons by 100,000 skilled workers. The pyramid is 146 meters high which was the tallest building in the world for 3800 years.

The Incredible Sphinx

It has the body of a lion (symbol of strength) and a human head (symbol of intelligence). The Sphinx is 73 metres long, 20 metres high and 19 metres wide. It was sculpted from a single piece of limestone.

The Valley Temple

This is the site where the body of the Pharaoh Kefren was mummified. It was built at the time of the Ancient Empire (2686-2134 BC). It is one of the best-preserved monuments of ancient Egyptian civilisation. In this temple was discovered the most important statue of the ancient empire carved in diorite stone (the statue of Pharaoh Kefren).

Then we will have lunch in a restaurant with the view of the pyramids or view of the Nile and then we will visit:

The Egyptian Museum

The Egyptian Museum contains over 120,000 pieces; made of gold, silver, precious stones, wood and stone, statues, jewellery and funerary objects such as the solid gold mask of Pharaoh Tutankhamun. You can also see the palette of Narmer and the mummies of the pharaohs.

In the evening transfer to Cairo airport for your flight to Aswan. On arrival accommodation on a 5 star boat, overnight on board.

Day 3Visit Aswan Attractions And Sail To Kom Ombo

In the morning after breakfast, we continue Cairo tour package and Nile Cruise to visit the most famous sights of Aswan, we start with:

Aswan High Dam

One of the modern attractions in Aswan which was built between 1960 and 1970 as a result of cooperation between Russia and Egypt during the time of Gamal Abdel Nasser. It is very important for controlling the flooding of the Nile and producing electricity.

The Unfinished Obelisk

The Unfinished Obelisk is one of the unique monuments of Aswan. It was carved by the order of Queen Hashepsut in a granite quarry to be erected at the entrance of the Temple of Karnak in Luxor. This Obelisk shows us how obelisks were sculpted in ancient Egypt. It is 42 metres high and weighs 1200 tons. At some point cracks appeared in the rock and so it was abandoned.

To enjoy lunch we will return to the cruise ship and then depart to visit:

The Temple of Philae

It is a legendary temple of the goddess Isis, goddess of love and beauty in ancient Egypt. It is famous with the myth of the god Osiris who was killed by his brother god Set (the god of evil in ancient Egypt). The god Osiris was resurrected to be the king of the other world. Then the god Set was defeated by the god Horus (the god of protection and the son of the god Osiris). The Temple of Philae was moved in 1960 by UNESCO to the island of Ejelica after the construction of the Aswan High Dam.

Return to the cruise ship, sailing to Kom Ombo, overnight on board.

Day 4Edfu and Kom Ombo Temples

On the fourth day after enjoying breakfast on board, we will visit the Temple of Kom Ombo.

The Temple of Kom Ombo

The word Kom Ombo means heap of gold. It was built during the Greco-Roman period between 205 BC and 180 AD. The Temple of Kom Ombo is divided into two temples in the same enclosure: one dedicated to the god Sobek (the crocodile god) and the other dedicated to the god ‘’hor-wer‘’ which means Horus the great.

Then we take lunch on the cruise ship and continue sailing to:

The Temple of Edfu

The Temple of Edfu is one of the last temples that were built during the Tolomaic period between 237 BC and 57 AD. It is the main temple of the god Horus (god of protection in ancient Egypt). According to the myth of the god Osiris and the goddess Isis: part of the combat between the god Osiris (the god of good) and his brother the god Set (the god of evil in ancient Egypt) took place on this site. The temple was excavated by the French Egyptologist Mariette in 1860.

Then sailing to the city of Luxor, arriving in the evening, overnight on board.

Day 5Visit Luxor Monuments

After breakfast, we leave the ship and your guide will accompany you in a private air-conditioned vehicle to visit the most important attractions in Luxor on your tour to Cairo and Nile Cruise, starting with a visit to:

The Valley of the Kings

The Valley of the Kings is where we will visit the tombs of the most important kings of the New Kingdom (1570-1070 BC). It contains 63 tombs with wonderful decorations of pharaohs such as Ramses (I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, IX, X), Amenophis I and Hachepsut. Tutankhamun's tomb is the most visited tomb in the Valley of the Kings. The Valley of the Kings was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979.

The Temple of Hashepsut

The Temple of Hachepsut may be the motto of the city of Luxor. It was known by the name ‘’Djeser Djeseru‘’ which means the holy sanctuary. It is the majestic temple of one of the most powerful pharaohs in ancient Egypt (Queen Hachepsut). The temple was built in 1479 BC at the time of the New Empire in 15 years. It was dedicated to the god Amun-Ra and as a mortuary temple of Queen Hachepsut.

The Colossi of Memnon

The Colossi of Memnon were known as the protective giants of the city of Luxor. They are two blocks of Hareniscan stone, 18 metres high and weighing 720 tons. Each statue bears the image of the pharaoh Amenophis III (1386-1350 BC). The Colossi of Memnon were damaged by an earthquake in 27 BC. They were rebuilt in 199 BC. The Colossi were very popular during the Greco-Roman period because of Memnon's fame for the sound that came from the statues at dawn each day.

Then we will have lunch on an island in the Nile so a boat ride on the Nile is included and continue to visit:

Karnak Temple

You don't do your 6 days in Egypt without visiting the Temple of Karnak. It is one of the few sites still standing after 4000 years. It was known by the name ‘’Ipt-sut‘’ (choicest of sites) or ‘’Pr Imn‘’ which means the house of Amun the chief god of Egypt during the time of the New Empire. It is one of the largest temples in the world. It contains shrines of various gods such as Osiris, Isis, Ptah, but the complex was mainly dedicated to the Theban triad (Amun, Mut, Jonsu).

Then we drive to Luxor airport to take the flight to Cairo, accommodation, and overnight at the hotel.
