Frequently Asked Questions

While 5 days is a tight schedule, it is the perfect "highlights" tour. By utilizing domestic flights between Cairo, Luxor, and Aswan, you can skip the long train rides and spend your time exploring the Pyramids, Karnak Temple, and Philae instead of commuting.

To fit all three cities into five days, flying is essential. A flight from Cairo to Luxor takes about 1 hour, and the drive or short train between Luxor and Aswan is manageable. This maximizes your sightseeing time at the monuments.

A comprehensive package should include airport transfers, domestic flights, guided tours of the Giza Pyramids and Egyptian Museum, the Valley of the Kings in Luxor, and the High Dam in Aswan. Most travelers also prefer including a professional Egyptologist guide.

A traditional 3 or 4 night cruise is difficult to fit into a 5 day total trip that includes Cairo. However, you can enjoy a Felucca ride in Aswan or a private day sailing in Luxor to get the Nile experience without the multi day commitment.

The peak season is from October to April, when the weather is cool enough to explore the temples comfortably. If you travel in the summer (June–August), it is recommended to start your tours very early in the morning to avoid the midday heat in Upper Egypt
