Your Cairo to Alexandria Day Tour begins with a comfortable private pickup from your hotel or airport, followed by a scenic drive to Alexandria, the legendary city founded by Alexander the Great. Once you arrive, the experience unfolds with a guided visit to the modern Alexandria Library, an architectural landmark inspired by the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria and the sun god Amun-Ra. The library stands as a cultural revival of Alexandria’s intellectual legacy, even when viewed from outside on closure days.
As the tour continues, you explore Alexandria’s spiritual diversity through landmarks that reflect centuries of history. The Cairo to Alexandria Day Tour includes stops at Abu al-Abbas al-Mursi Mosque, one of the city’s most impressive Islamic monuments, and El Nabi Daniel Mosque, a historic site surrounded by mystery and local traditions. You also visit the Church of St. Mark, believed to be the first Christian church established in Africa, highlighting Alexandria’s role in early Christian history.
Midday, the Cairo to Alexandria Day Tour allows time to relax and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. This break offers a taste of Egyptian cuisine while taking in the coastal atmosphere that defines Alexandria’s charm.
The journey continues with views of the Citadel of Qaitbay, built on the original site of the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria. Although visited from the outside, the citadel remains one of the city’s most iconic landmarks and a powerful symbol of medieval Islamic defense architecture. Later, you explore Montaza Gardens, once the royal retreat of King Farouk, where landscaped gardens, seaside views, and historic palaces create a peaceful contrast to the city center. On the return drive, you pass Stanley Bridge, a modern symbol of Alexandria connecting past and present.
By the end of the Cairo to Alexandria Day Tour, you return comfortably to Cairo with a deeper understanding of Alexandria’s layered identity—ancient, religious, royal, and modern—all experienced in one carefully curated day.
