Tour Details

The Cairo to Alexandria Day Tour offers a meaningful journey from Egypt’s bustling capital to the Mediterranean city that once shaped the ancient world. Designed for travelers who want to experience Alexandria in one well-planned day, this private tour combines history, architecture, and local life without rushing or overwhelming the schedule.

Your Cairo to Alexandria Day Tour begins with a comfortable private pickup from your hotel or airport, followed by a scenic drive to Alexandria, the legendary city founded by Alexander the Great. Once you arrive, the experience unfolds with a guided visit to the modern Alexandria Library, an architectural landmark inspired by the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria and the sun god Amun-Ra. The library stands as a cultural revival of Alexandria’s intellectual legacy, even when viewed from outside on closure days.

As the tour continues, you explore Alexandria’s spiritual diversity through landmarks that reflect centuries of history. The Cairo to Alexandria Day Tour includes stops at Abu al-Abbas al-Mursi Mosque, one of the city’s most impressive Islamic monuments, and El Nabi Daniel Mosque, a historic site surrounded by mystery and local traditions. You also visit the Church of St. Mark, believed to be the first Christian church established in Africa, highlighting Alexandria’s role in early Christian history.

Midday, the Cairo to Alexandria Day Tour allows time to relax and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. This break offers a taste of Egyptian cuisine while taking in the coastal atmosphere that defines Alexandria’s charm.

The journey continues with views of the Citadel of Qaitbay, built on the original site of the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria. Although visited from the outside, the citadel remains one of the city’s most iconic landmarks and a powerful symbol of medieval Islamic defense architecture. Later, you explore Montaza Gardens, once the royal retreat of King Farouk, where landscaped gardens, seaside views, and historic palaces create a peaceful contrast to the city center. On the return drive, you pass Stanley Bridge, a modern symbol of Alexandria connecting past and present.

By the end of the Cairo to Alexandria Day Tour, you return comfortably to Cairo with a deeper understanding of Alexandria’s layered identity—ancient, religious, royal, and modern—all experienced in one carefully curated day.

The best vacation of my Life!

Over the course of five (5) days, we had a wonderful experience while on a cruise, experiencing the rich history and culture around Luxor, Aswan, and Abu Simbel. Everything was simple to arrange with Egypt Tours Portal, and they worked with us to create an itinerary that met our specific requirements.

Flexible and Big Quality

For my first trip to Egypt, I had the most amazing three-night Nile cruise from Aswan to Luxor. I learned a lot more about Egypt's history from our tour guide, Mahmoud Nour, who is the best storyteller I've ever met. A wealth of cultural, historical, and current events data was offered by him. On top of that, he provided me with a wealth of helpful information regarding staying safe as I explored different areas. This trip had a lasting impression on me.

Definitely worth it!!

With Hamdy, we had an absolutely fantastic time. He and the driver spent all day with us, and they couldn't have been nicer, more informed, or more accommodating. During this tour, he showed us wonderful, real places, and we learned a lot. Our trip was flawlessly planned, and the booking process was a breeze. Thank you once more!

Highly Recommend

I can only speak highly of my time spent using Egypt Tours Portal. Throughout our entire excursion, our guide Biko shared precise information and was quite educated. He was approachable, kind, and concerned about our well-being at all times. We were also pleasantly surprised by how promptly our driver dropped us off at each location. All in all, it was an excellent experience, and I would suggest ETP to anybody planning a rewarding pyramid tour.
