Phinx Airport is located at kilometer 45 of the Cairo/Alexandria Desert Road, to relieve pressure on Cairo International Airport, reduce traffic density in the heart of Cairo, and serve the tourist area in Giza Governorate (the Grand Museum and the Pyramids).It is the newest civil airport in Greater Cairo. phinx airport It was opened in January 2019, and its construction took a full year of continuous work. It is also close to the industrial zone of the 6th of October City, which contains many factories, making the airport one of the most important economic tributaries of the region.It will be easy to complete commercial transportation operations between the airport and industrial areas.
It is expected that hotels surrounding the airport or in its neighboring cities (the Pyramids or Sheikh Zayed City) will witness full occupancy.
Tourist flights are scheduled to go directly to Sphinx Airport instead of Cairo Airport, which is relatively far from the archaeological areas.
